AI VIDEO GENERATION

AI VIDEO TOOLS

On this page, we’ll explore the best AI video tools available today. Discover what sets each tool apart and learn how to use them to create high-quality video content. Whether generating videos from scratch or enhancing existing footage, these tools will transform your projects. Let’s dive into the world of AI video!

Why and How we will create AI Videos...

We can generate videos directly from text prompts with most AI tools, but the best results often come from starting with high-quality AI-generated images and transforming them into stunning videos—a method we’ll use throughout this course.

In this section, we’ll explore some of the best AI video tools available, diving into their features and capabilities. You’ll learn how to dictate camera movements, choreograph character actions, transform your footage into new styles and scenes, and so much more!

While some tools offer more control than others, all are evolving rapidly. Let’s master them together, and as the tools advance, I’ll keep you updated with the latest techniques and changes. Let’s get started!

A Comprehensive Guide to Using Runway for AI Video Creation

Runway is one of the most versatile and user-friendly AI platforms, making it a favorite for creatives looking to push the boundaries of video editing. With its ability to tackle common challenges like morphing and distortion, Runway streamlines the process of creating dynamic and visually stunning videos.

Here's a detailed walkthrough to help you get started:

Why Use Runway?

  • AI-Powered Precision: Overcome common AI video issues like distortion and awkward transitions.
  • Effortless Video Expansion: Extend your videos seamlessly with intelligent camera directions and character prompts.
  • Advanced Video Tools: Easily convert video styles or adjust aspect ratios without losing quality.

Step-by-Step Guide to Runway

Getting Started

  1. Visit the Platform: Head over to Runway.
  2. Explore the Tools: Browse through the catalog of tools, including the recently renamed Generative Session.

Core Features

1. Sessions Overview (first, left panel)

  • Prompt: Use text prompts to guide camera or character actions alongside your uploaded images.
  • Camera: Manually adjust movements like zoom, pan, tilt, and roll for your uploaded image or video. Preview changes in real-time.
  • Act One: Transform a video into a new style, like converting a recorded scene on webcam  into animation or swapping characters and voices. (A dedicated lecture in our course will cover this in detail.)
  • Expand Video: Change aspect ratios seamlessly. For example, convert a 16:9 video into 9:16 by generating additional content, avoiding traditional cropping or zooming methods.

How to Use Each Session

  1. Choose Your Tool: Select Prompt or Camera for this guide.
  2. Upload an Image: Add your starting image (you will have the option to set your start and end image enabling you to dictate the start and end images the AI model must use).
  3. Optional Prompt: Add a text prompt to describe movements or actions.
    • Tip: Begin with no prompt to see the AI’s inspiration, then refine it.

Prompt Crafting Tips

Focus on movement rather than image content. For example:

  • Input Example: A character posing with a peace sign.
  • Prompt Example: Subject cheerfully poses, her hands forming a peace sign.

Sample Prompts for Inspiration

  1. Seamless Transitions
    • Continuous hyperspeed FPV footage: The camera flies through a glacial canyon to a dreamy cloudscape.

  1. Camera Movements
    • A glowing ocean at night teeming with bioluminescent creatures. The camera starts with a macro close-up of a jellyfish, then zooms out to reveal the entire ocean lit up under a starry sky.

  1. Text Title Cards
    • Dynamic title screen: The scene starts on a colorful paint-covered wall. Black paint pours over it, forming the word "Runway." The dripping paint appears detailed with cinematic lighting.

  1. Keyword Tips
    Use specific keywords for clarity:
    • Example: For close-ups, include details like texture and lighting. For wide-angle shots, emphasize environment and atmosphere.

For more prompt inspiration, check out Runway’s Gen-3 Alpha Prompting Guide.

Generating Video

  1. Set the Aspect Ratio: Choose from standard options like 16:9 or 9:16 and more.
  2. Duration: Choose 5 or 10 seconds (extendable post-generation).
  3. Select Model: Use the latest model (e.g., Turbo) for optimal speed and quality (located at the very top of the page).
  4. Generate Video: Click Generate to create your first iteration.

Post-Generation Options

After generation, explore the following tools (click the drop down arrow at the bottom left of the generation):

  • Regenerate: Reuse settings for a new draft.
  • Extend: Add 8 seconds with optional prompting.
  • Lip Sync: Upload audio to sync with your video.
  • Video to Video: Use the output as input for further transformations in Runways video>video tool.
  • Edit Time: Trim the video to your desired length.
  • Expand Video: Adjust aspect ratios as needed.
  • Download: Save your video for use.

Additional Features (in sessions - far left panel)

Camera Movement

  • Fine-tune the following:
    • Horizontal (Pan), Vertical (Tilt), Zoom, Roll.
  • Preview adjustments in real-time with your image or video.

Act One

  • Record Yourself: Use your webcam to animate movement and expressions.
  • Select a Character: Choose a pre-existing character or upload your own.
  • Generate: Transform your recording into a dynamic video.

In Summary

Runway simplifies the process of creating high-quality, AI-enhanced videos. Whether you're crafting cinematic transitions, animating characters, or repurposing videos for new formats, this platform is your go-to tool for seamless creativity.

Start experimenting today at Runway.

Note: The platform layout may change from time to time, but these references and steps will remain consistent.

How to Prompt with Haiper for AI Video Generation

1. Build Strong Prompts:

2. Use References:
Incorporate style or genre references, such as "in the style of 1980s grindhouse horror." These references simplify the prompt and tap into recognizable styles or influences.

3. Add Details:
Experiment with specific descriptions, avoiding metaphors or ambiguous keywords. The model responds directly to keywords, so precision is key. Test variations to discover unique results.

4. Get Cinematic:
Include camera angles and movements in your prompt (e.g., "low angle," "drone shot," "long-distance shot"). Use grammatically accurate phrases like "a drone shot of a statue in a park" for dynamic and professional visuals.

By mastering these techniques, you’ll unlock Haiper’s full potential and bring your creative video ideas to life with ease and precision.

Getting Started with Veo 3 in Google Flow: Step-by-Step Guide

Note: Veo 3 can be accessed through various platforms and third-party tools, but for the most direct and integrated experience, Google Flow (from Google Labs) is the best option. It provides access to all the latest features in a clean, organized layout—perfect for both beginners and pros.

Step 1: Open Flow and Start a New Project

  1. Go to Google Labs > Flow.

  2. Click “+ New Project” to begin.

  3. You’ll now see the Flow interface.

At the bottom of the screen is your Prompt Box—think of it as your control center.
This is where you’ll type your video prompts.

Step 2: Select Your Mode

On the left-hand dropdown, choose from:

  • Text to Video

  • Frames to Video

  • Ingredients to Video

Each one works slightly differently—here’s how to use them:

Text to Video

This is the most common way to use Veo 3: type a detailed prompt and generate a video.

Use this structure for the best results with Veo 3:

Prompt Template (fill in with rich detail):

  • Scene Description: What’s happening? Is it cinematic, documentary-style, or surreal?

  • Characters: Who is in the scene? Age, gender, race, clothing, emotion, body language.

  • Setting: Location (be specific), time of day, time of year, indoor/outdoor, weather.

  • Style: Realistic, animated, vintage film, handheld, drone shot, etc.

  • Sound/Music: Mention if there should be background music, voiceover, natural sound.

  • Dialogue (optional): Add exact speech and specify delivery tone (e.g., whisper, scream).

  • Camera Details: Wide shot, close-up, slow pan, zoom in, etc.

  • Mood/Tone: Romantic, tense, eerie, exciting, peaceful…

💡 Example:
"A young girl in 1960s Nashville walks into a dusty record store at sunset. She's wearing a yellow dress and holding a notebook. The air is warm, and music plays softly from a jukebox in the corner. Shot in vintage 16mm style with soft lighting and grain. She says, 'This is where it all begins.' Camera pans slowly toward her face."

Frames to Video

This works like Image-to-Video in other AI tools. Upload a starting image or an image to match the final frame.

  • Upload an image to start your video.

  • Choose if the image should be a starting point, ending point, or both.

  • Then write your prompt (as above) to animate the scene around your frame.

⚠️ Note: As mentioned in the course, some versions (Veo 2 vs Veo 3) may limit how frames work—check the latest lesson updates for compatibility and usage tips.

Ingredients to Video

Think of this as your way to build a scene with custom elements.

You can:

  • Add a person with a specific look or outfit

  • Include a product or branded item

  • Place objects into the scene (like “a red vintage typewriter on a desk”)

💡 Great for ads, product demos, or specific storytelling moments.

After choosing “Ingredients to Video,” simply add your elements, then write your scene prompt as usual.

Step 3: Choose Your Model

Click the Settings icon (top-right):

  • Choose between Veo 2 or Veo 3

  • Also choose Fast or Quality mode

(We go over this in the course in more detail, including side-by-side comparisons of Veo 2 vs Veo 3, quality vs speed, and cost differences.)

Final Tip

Google may update Flow’s layout or features frequently—and may even show different versions in different locations.
If you notice a major change, check back in the course—I’ll always upload a new tutorial video when something important changes.
